Hmm, the just promoted first class SOLDIER looking up to his peers...I don't think there's something like that in the game, but that's the idea of this picture.
I'm such a big fan of slopping colours, that's why the colouring style looks messy, IMHO. It was supposed to be quick, but I think I may have spent too much time on colouring this. Simple blue background because I can't think of great background ideas when I sketched it.  Dodgy proportions methinks. Sephiroth's hands are massively huge compared to Genesis'. I am also inclined to think the focus of the picture is more towards the left when Zack is supposed to be the primary focus. When I was sketching this, I was madly in love with the old Zack look. I used to like the shorter hair Zack used to have, but I guess we all know Zack with his longer, spikier hair, don't we? It's not perfect, but I hope you'll like it ^_^ Bloody missions. Oooh, and Gacktesis... ehr, I mean Genesis and Sephiroth look cool, too. Your colouring... Damn, you're always good at picking subtle, pastel-y colours, yet they look just sharp enough to catch your eye. <33

Well I wouldn't say the composition draws the eye overly to one side but you have a triangle going on the left-hand side and Zack kind of stands out from that harmony by interrupting the line and being the most exposed character.
I think Sephiroth's hand is pretty big, but maybe only slightly. I just used the rule that his hand would be as large as his face. But there is a slight illusion as well because he's showing more of his hand than Genesis.
And as usual, gorgeous colouring! I don't think it's messy at all! It's more of a blended painting rather than pure cel-shading.
